SURE FOOT Equine Pads are Revolutionary!

Imagine your horse becoming his own teacher and finding inner harmony. The SURE FOOT Equine Program gives you the tools to offer your horse this profoundly meaningful experience of self-learning.

SURE FOOT is a unique and innovative program, which uses the SURE FOOT Equine Stability Pads. It's easy to learn - if you can safely pick up a hoof you can do SURE FOOT. With SURE FOOT, you can give your horse the chance to change his posture, behavior, and movement while improving his balance, confidence, and performance in just a few minutes.

More importantly, SURE FOOT will show you that, when given a voice, your horse will become engaged, present, and ready to work.

How can the SURE FOOT Equine Stability Program and Pads help my horse?

SURE FOOT Equine Stability Pads help to balance our horse and create relaxation, increase freedom of movement, wellbeing, and improve performance. They can be used to support your horse if he is rehabilitating from illness, accident, or injury.

How do they work?

SURE FOOT Equine Pads tap into the nervous system of the horse, via the hoof.  Within minutes positive changes may be seen in movement and behavior. This is most likely occurring by the activation of the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest). Evidence for this are readily observable signs such as head lowering, eye blinking, deep breathing and more. It also appears that proprioceptors reset as seen by the overall improvement in stance, balance, and movement. It may be that new neural pathways are created, which would explain the long-lasting improvement in gait and behavior.

Who can use SURE FOOT?

SURE FOOT Pads can be used by the horse owner or used by the equine professional vet, farrier or therapist as an essential tool in equine rehabilitation and conditioning programs.

SURE FOOT may be used daily, weekly or periodically depending on the situation and the horse’s desire to stand on SURE FOOT Pads.

Why should I contact a SURE FOOT Equine Practitioner?

A SURE FOOT Practitioner can provide you with training and experience to guide you in the use of SURE FOOT Pads with your horse. She can help you determine which pads would be best for your current situation and help you to see and understand what is happening when using SURE FOOT. Practitioners are Equine Professionals that have a wide variety of other skills and therefore can create a comprehensive plan for you and your horse in addition to using SURE FOOT.

Why should I use SURE FOOT?

SURE FOOT can increase core strength, improve stability, balance, proprioception, self-awareness and to enhance training. Horse that are fit and healthy or ones that are scared, scary, panicky, pushy or that trip or stumble will find physical, mental and emotional comfort and support from standing on SURE FOOT Pads. It can also improve your relationship with your horse as he will remember that you brought him comfort!

What is SURE FOOT?

SURE FOOT is simple, effective way to help your horse find balance, confidence and calmness by allowing him to become self-aware using SURE FOOT Pads, controlled unstable surfaces of varying densities that are placed under his hooves and give to his weight.

Created and developed by Wendy Murdoch, the effectiveness of SURE FOOT is acknowledged by owners, veterinarians, equine professionals, trainers, trimmers, and farriers around the world.

The Program uses SURE FOOT Equine Stability Pads, designed by Wendy, specifically for horses. Your horse has an opportunity to experience his own habitual patterns and find ease when standing on SURE FOOT Pads. Watch as he shifts from anxious to calm, and from calm to a deep state of relaxation.  Even more amazing is these improvements last long after the horse walks off the Pad. Greater relaxation means, less stress, easier to train, greater freedom of movement, more resilience to the environment, and greater wellbeing.

SURE FOOT Pads vary in density from Hard to Soft, providing a wide range of pattern variation for your horse to experience. The SURE FOOT Pads challenge your horse’s balance, activate proprioception, work the small postural muscles, and creates awareness. The degree of difficulty depends on the Pad density and number of hooves placed on Pads. Once the horse is familiar with SURE FOOT the pattern can be varied on any given day depending on the horse’s condition, medical history, and desired effect.
